Tackle high energy costs and improve the comfort of your home with energy-efficient windows and doors, supported by grants from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). These grants make it more affordable to upgrade your home while reducing heat loss, eliminating draughts, and improving your Building Energy Rating (BER).
Grants are available for homeowners, landlords, holiday home owners, companies, charities, and Approved Housing Bodies. Depending on your property type, you can receive up to €4,000 for windows and €800 per external door (up to two doors). You can apply for either upgrade or both together.
To qualify, your home must be built and occupied before 2011 and have good attic and wall insulation. The grant supports replacing older single or double glazed windows with high-performance units (U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or better), as well as upgrading inefficient external doors. After the works are completed, a BER assessment is required to confirm the improved energy performance.
The process is straightforward: you apply for the grant, wait for approval, complete the works, and then submit your BER and documentation to receive payment.
